The Leinster Indoor Championships were held over the w/end 7th + 8th of March in Athlone where Medals were at a premium, it would be fair to say that this fantast Stadium is enticing lots of hidden talented children and teenagers who up to now have not showing any interest in Athletics to join Clubs and saviour the delights of competing at this arena.  Championships and All Ireland records were set by new kids on the block over the two days on this fast track.

All our Athletes gave a 100% setting new P: B and overcoming various nick ling injuries, but if there was a medal for bravery and commitment it would have been awarded to Omasan Ayavoro who qualified for the final of the Girls U/14 60M after a heat and semi-final and finished 5th in the final with her arm encased in plaster weighting about 3kg what a girl. Runo her brother coasted into the final of the Boys U/13 60m and was crowned Leinster Champion crossing the line in a Usane Bolt stance.

Luke Walker Browning was fastest in the heats of the 600m but carrying an injury had to be satifyised with Silver in the Final hopefully he will be back to full fitness for the All Ireland, Grace O’ Toole decided to forego the track events and was rewarded with a Silver Medal in the Long/Jump.
