Meanwhile at the first Indoor meet of the season which was the County Kildare Indoor Championships in Athlone on Saturday 9th January.  Mark Glynn set a P: B of 1.58 winning the County Senior 800m and posted 23.6 in the 200m taking the silver Medal, Mark is one to watch in 2016 as he is still competing in the Juvenile section. Aimee McGrath having her first run of the year finished second to a much more experienced Rachel Smith in the senior 800m Aimee has still not reached her 17th birthday and more to come this season. Molly Aspell competed in the girls U/16 800m( not her favourite event) had a good run but finished in the dreaded 4th spot. Runo Ayovoro showed he is holding his good form of last year when blazing across the line to capture Gold in the boys u/14 60m, Luke Walker Browning looked the winner in the U/13 600m but a lapse of concentration in the last 10m saw him caught on the line for the gold but Luke picked up a second Silver in the L/Jump. Other Athletes showing good form early in the season were Alex O’ Shea silver in the U/15 Hurdles, Omasan Ayovoro bronze in the U/15 200m, Leah O’ Shea bronze in U/15 S/Putt, Fergal Bradley, James Devett, + Jake Mahoney also had good runs in their events but finished out of the Medal Table. THE QUESTION STILL HAS TO BE ASKED WHERE WERE THE LARGE NUMBER OF ATHLETES WHO TRAIN ALL YEAR BUT SHOW NO PRIDE OR COMMITMENT IN THEIR CLUB WHEN COMPETITIONS ARE RUN FOR THEIR BENEFIT?   Coaches hope this trend will not continue in 2016 (as rules of the Club may be enforced)

IMPORTANT: Training for the 10 to 12 age group may have to be restricted to one night a week, unless we can get a panel of People to give 1hr a week on a rota basis to help with this group. Coaching courses are always available and the Club will pay for same. Please talk to any of the coaches at training if you can help.
